Can I pay with insurance?
At this time I can offer direct billing for Blue Cross, Canada Life, Chamber of Commerce, Dejardins, Simply Benefits, Quickcard, and anything that uses Telus Health. Otherwise, if your insurance provider offers direct billing and you would like to take advantage of that, let me know and I can see if I can set it up! Otherwise, I am happy to provide receipts for reimbursement. All receipts will include my registration number.
Do you do EMDR? What kind of equipment do you use?
Yes, I offer EMDR (Eve Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and I use EMDR-Kit lights, buzzers, and headphones.
Can you do trauma treatment?
At this time, I am able to do EMDR and Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD as well as schema therapy.
Do you work with adolescents?
At this time, I generally work only with adults, but I am open to discussion for mature adolescents. Feel free to book a free consultation to discuss further!
Can I do my session virtually?
While I encourage my clients to see me in-person as much as they can, I am able to provide virtual appointments should that be more accessible for you! Please note that in order to do this, you need to be a resident of Alberta and physically in Alberta during the time of the session.
Can you provide me with a diagnosis?
I specialize in individual psychotherapy, and am not qualified to provide official diagnoses. In order to do this, you would need to work with somebody who specializes in psychometric testing, preferably one that you are not also seeing as a therapist. If needed, I can refer you to an assessment psychologist.
Can you write me a letter?
I am able to write you letters, provided that the information contained therein is within my scope. As I am unable to diagnose or assess, any letter I write would attest to what you have disclosed in-session, and would not include any additional opinions or recommendations outside of that.
